My name is Jasmine Martens, I am a self taught artist raised in a (very) small town in Massachusetts. I started creating art as soon as I could pick up a pencil, my mother was an artist and growing up surrounded by art allowed a space that nurtured creativity and artistic exploration, not just for me but for my brother as well. He began to explore music as an artistic outlet, and I found myself exploring with mostly painting and drawing. To this day my mom remains not only my biggest artistic influence, but the inspiration behind Raven Haven Co. As a talented artist herself, she always encouraged embracing individuality and exploring different forms of self-expression and art. 

Sadly, she passed away when I was 12, along with my brother. She always used to say she would be reincarnated as a blackbird, a raven or a crow. So it only made sense to name my little art business after my first and biggest inspiration. 

I first started Raven Haven Co. while in school completing my B.S. in Biology, selling art at an annual art fair in my hometown and the eventually selling prints on Etsy. Since then I have expanded my artwork from drawings and prints to paintings, sculptures, and tattoo designs. And I am continuing to experiment with even more forms of artwork too, which you will see more here soon!! I am now 25, and I am finding it more important now than ever to allow myself more space and time for art and for Raven Haven Co., to give my passion the attention it deserves, to allow myself the ability to explore what really brings me joy. To make art that brings others joy, makes them feel something, art that they resonate with and connect with. To bring peoples thoughts, feelings, and ideas to life.

Because life is too short to not do what makes you happy.
